
Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®)
WHAT IS TRE®?
TRE® or Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises was developed by Dr. David Berceli, PhD and is a simple yet powerful process to release stress, tension and trauma from the body. TRE® safely activates the body's natural reflex of shaking or vibrating , which helps calm the nervous system and release muscular tension. When this process occurs in a safe and controlled environment, the body naturally returns to a balanced state.
BENEFITS OF TRE®
The accumulation of stress and trauma can dysregulate the nervous system and lead to conflict, alienation, and combativeness. TRE® utilizes the body's natural wisdom and reflexes to release stress and restore equilibrium. Unlike traditional talk therapy, verbal processing of past trauma is not required in TRE®. Once learned, TRE® becomes a lifelong stress relief and self regulation tool. It complements other treatments and modalities and can be taught privately or in a group setting. TRE® transcends cultural and language barriers as it's based on the innate intelligence and physiological responses shared by all. Reported benefits of TRE include:

My Approach

I combine my knowledge and understanding of TRE® with a deep sense of intuition and sensitivity toward each individual client. If applicable, I often combine meditation and creative visualization in my sessions. Above all, I encourage everyone to listen to and trust their body. This is key to self empowerment and self regulation. Sessions focus on a safe and welcoming environment. Together we build a container for growth, healing and expansion.

My TRE® Journey
I was introduced to and fell in love with TRE® in early 2023 and noticed a profound shift immediately. My first experience was quite intense and many emotions came to the surface. As I became more familiar and attuned with the process, I began to practice TRE® several times a week and then everyday. It is no exaggeration to say that TRE® has changed my life and dramatically improved a chronic insomnia issue. Anxiety levels have decreased and I no longer feel stuck in fight/ flight response. My relationships have improved tremendously as well as my general sense of wellbeing and health. I knew from the start that I wanted to help others by sharing this powerful and revitalizing practice. I trained and became a certified TRE® provider in 2024.
SAFETY & TRE®
TRE® is generally safe and effective for most people. However individuals with specific physical or psychological conditions or a complex trauma history should consult a certified TRE® provider or medical doctor before engaging in the exercises. TRE® is not a replacement for medical or psychological trauma recovery practices.
